St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences has been recognised by the NAAC and is approved by MCI, Government of Karnataka, the nursing college under it is recognised by Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council. St John's Medical College Bangalore is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. The college is ranked 28 by the NIRF Ranking 2024 among the top Medical colleges in India. St Johns Medical College Bangalore was established in 1963 and has many departments under it.

St. John’s Medical College offers UG, PG, super speciality, PhD, elective, and fellowship courses across the Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences streams through these departments. St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences has three associated colleges, namely Medical College, Nursing College, and Allied Health Sciences College.

St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences has an attached hospital known as St. John’s Medical College Hospital which was established in 1975 and accommodates 1,350 in-patient beds.
