Application Forms: Expected to open in Late February / Early March 2026.
Mode: Online (via sjcl.edu.in) and Offline (Campus Counter).
Entrance Exam: Tentative date is May 2026 (Post-Board Exams).
Classes Start: August 2026.
Since SJCL is a Jesuit Institution (similar to Loyola or St. Xavier’s), their selection process goes beyond just marks. They look for candidates with strong communication skills and ethical values.
Step 1: Application (Feb - April 2026)
The application forms are expected to be released online in late February.
We will need to submit the form via their official portal.
Note for Christian Candidates: If the student is Catholic/Christian, we must procure a Letter from the Parish Priest/Presbyter. This is mandatory to avail the Minority Preference quota.
Step 2: The Entrance Test (Written)
Unlike other colleges that only look at 12th-grade marks, SJCL conducts its own Entrance Test (approx. 60 mins).
Syllabus: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Basic Logic, and Legal Aptitude.
Strategy: The test is not as difficult as CLAT, but it requires basic preparation in current affairs.
Step 3: The Personal Interview (Crucial Step)
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
Weightage: This is the most important part. The panel (often including Jesuit fathers) assesses the student's confidence, clarity of thought, and reasons for choosing law.
Preparation: We will conduct a mock interview session to ensure the student is ready for questions like "Why St. Joseph's?" and social awareness topics.
Step 4: Final Selection & Fee Payment
Once selected, the fee (approx. ₹1.20 Lakhs) must be paid within 3 days to confirm the seat.
PLACEMENT
St. Joseph’s College of Law (SJCL) is a young institution (Established 2017). The first few batches have only just graduated. Unlike the Commerce College (SJCC) which places 90% of students, the Law College is still building its corporate recruitment engine.
